Ratio of breath cycle
Ratio of breath cycle or Breathing ratio is the relation between each part of the breath cycle (inhaling, retaining, exhaling and sustain), expressed in proportion units or constant time. It is the core and the basis of breathing gymnastics, as it enables the specific effect of every training type.
Each of the ratio indexes will be multiplied to "breaths per minute" parameter to create your actual breathing pattern.

Where the ratio can be found?
- Go to Control tab.
- Press on "Ratio of breath cycle" item.
- Note that for the defaults 8 training types the ratio cannot be changed, even in Guru version, see here why it is so.

Set/change the ratio
- Create your own training first, or pick a training type you've already created.
- Press on "Ratio of breath cycle" item.
- Use spinners to choose the ratio you'd like and press "OK". Note that Bpm value has been changed as well.

Using advanced settings for the ratio value in Guru version
- Choose the custom training you want to set a special ratio for, or the preset training that you'd like to change/adjust.
- Press on "Ratio of breath cycle" item.
- Press on "Advanced" in bottom left corner in the dialog arrived.
In this table you can set the ratio in 4 different ways:
1) Set the usual ratio: if all checkboxes are unchecked, use a spinner to set the ratio for a phase, like 4 for "retain" and 2 "exhale" on a screenshot below.
2) Set the fractional ratio: if you check "fractional" checkbox, there are 2 spinners to set a phase, like 1.4 for "sustain" on a screenshot below.

3) Set constant time: if you check "constant time" checkbox, use a spinner to set a phase, like 10 sec for "retain" on a screenshot below.
NB! The constant time you've set for a phase is its actual duration; it is not a ratio's index, so it will not be multiplied to "breaths per minute" parameter.
4) Set constant fractional time: if you check both "constant time" and "fractional" checkboxes, use 2 spinners to set a phase, like 3 sec 300 msec for "exhale" on a screenshot below.
